For as long as I can remember, I have been in love with storytelling.
When I was 6 years old, I wrote one that involved my mother, aliens, and my backyard, and won a district-wide writing competition. Throughout my life I have watched an endless amount of films and television riveted by the storylines, the love declarations, the underlying thematics woven through each frame.
When I met Haely 10 years ago, we found this common thread that connected the both of us: we were listeners. We loved to hear tales about people’s lives, loved to weave our way into their worlds just like all of those films wove into mine.
Every photographer will tell you that they want to know the real you and be your best friend, but what Haely and I want is this: we want to document your truth, however you’d like it. We will be there for you every step of the way, but to us, the most important part of this entire connection is our ability as storytellers to translate your moments, your love, your affections, into something tangible that you can hold in your hands.
What we offer is this: a piece of your life frozen in time, able to be cherished for years to come. Moments placed in a photo box for future generations to find and hold dear.
A remembrance of joy, of connection.
Curated perfection is not a goal we hold for anything we photograph because life is not perfect. It is a beautiful, terrible, incredible kaleidoscope of memories and moments, and those are the things we want to document.
Your love doesn't deserve to be treated like a formulaic design, or just a pretty picture to put up on pinterest. Your love is real, hard, and wholly worth it if you've gotten this far, and deserves its individual moment.
