Reminiscing is something I find myself doing constantly: remembering sweet little moments captured on disposable cameras of our summers along the coast, my tiny little hands clasped onto my auntie's bigger ones as we walk through the forest.
What makes a great storyteller isn't always the plot of the story, the myriad of characters, or the intricate world building.
What makes a great storyteller is time. It's the pacing of the story, the slowing down of beat to beat to find the small moments that hide in the in between, the little things that truly make the characters come to life.
This is what film is to us: a slowing down of the machinations of a wedding day, allowing us to take a breath and catch those in between moments that mean so much for years to come. It's nostalgia in tangible form, an art that documents memories.
